Nothing is wrong with being lesbian or gay, but problems are created for us by the ignorance and prejudice of others.
Hundreds of people call us every year. Most are lesbian, gay, or unsure of their sexuality, but transvestites, transsexuals and the families of all these people turn to us for help. Many of them have been so distressed, it has taken them weeks or months to pluck up the courage even to telephone us.

Her own experience is with a gay father but she is hoping for a discussion on both men and women. She is coming from the perspective of an adult rather than a child currently going through the process. She makes no claims to be a therapist but does feel that the topics are universal.
